Welcome to my blog! I want to start off by introducing myself. My name is Diego Vourakis. I was born in Peru, but currently living in Southern California. Ive been shooting photos for about a year. I recently got into making short films and I've been loving it! In this section of my website, I'm want to share with you the process through my Films / Photographs and the difficulties that may occur while shooting. My goal for this blog is to give you some insights about my films and hope to inspire some of you to go out and do what you love. There is not limit on what you can do if there is passion involved.
This was a VERY spontaneous shoot. I think Sina and I decided we wanted to shoot this video a few hours prior to filming it. We were sitting on the couch listening to music for future videos and when we both heard this song we instantly knew we wanted to create something out of it, we wanted it to be short but fun. This was shot in Arizona. As you know, AZ gets very hot during the summer. That day happened to be overcast with very soft light. It was perfect to shoot! (Thats why we didn't wait any longer). We picked an outfit, charged the gear and left the house as fast as we could to the location we had in mind. While shooting the video it rained a couple times on us! Luckily, there was a tunnel we went under and waited for a couple min for the rain to stop so we could keep shooting. This video took about an hour and a half to film and was shot only with a Cannon Rebel T3i with their stock 55mm lens. Once we were done getting all the clips we needed we packed everything and still made it home dry for dinner! Some of the most spontaneous shoots/adventures can turn out to be one of the most fun ones. Im happy on how this turned out. I hope you guys enjoy!
